Hi beaTunes Team,
I've been a longtime user of beaTunes and really appreciate the work you've done – it's a wonderful app that solves problems no other music management tool addresses as well.
I'm writing to share feedback about the current Apple Silicon (ARM) experience. While beaTunes works through Rosetta 2, running natively on ARM would offer significant performance improvements and better battery efficiency for Mac users. I understand that porting to a new architecture requires substantial development resources.
I wanted to suggest a potential solution: would you consider open-sourcing portions of beaTunes – particularly the performance-critical components that would benefit most from native ARM compilation? This could allow the community to contribute to ARM optimization while you maintain control over the core intellectual property and business logic.
Benefits I see include:

Community-driven ARM support without requiring your full development bandwidth
Potential contributions from developers who are invested in beaTunes' success
Extended longevity of the app as Apple continues moving forward with ARM

I completely understand if this doesn't align with your business model or development approach. Either way, I wanted to share this idea and reiterate how much I value beaTunes.
Thanks for considering this feedback!
Warmly,
Weekend Superhero
