Dear people,

Is it possible to drag and drop files from Beatunes to Ableton ?
At the moment i have many problems with Mixed in key, and the more tracks i scanned, the bigger the problems and the slower my Mac is working. After a few mails to the compagny they don't answer my mails any longer
So i am looking for another program who do can handle a huge libary without crashing my Mac.

    Hey Marco,

In general, beaTunes supports drag and drop. Whether it works with Ableton I frankly don't know.

Suggestion: Download the free trial, create a folder-based library for a folder that contains just a few songs, try drag and drop.

who do can handle a huge library

For a very large library you might need to adjust some parameters. Also, things may get slow.

Question: How many songs are in your library exactly? Some people think 10,000 songs make a "huge" library...

    without crashing my Mac.

In all fairness, it looks like MIK is merely not reacting anymore, not crashing your Mac.

But what's your hardware? RAM, processor, model/manufacturing year?

    Cheers,

    Hello Hendrik,

I have a Mac mini late 2015, running MAC OS X Sierra with 8 GB RAM, i5 dual core CPU and an 128 GB SSD.

I stored all my tracks in sub maps like 2016 Trance, 2017 Trance and so on.

All together, my hole libary contains +- 102.000 tracks and still growing !

    Best regards, Marco

    Hey,

That's not really a high performance machine, but it might suffice.

Sounds like your library is on an external drive. That will make processing slow, as for analysis all data eventually needs to be accessed. So when you analyze, make sure to only analyze things you are really interested in to reduce the burden. It will take a very long time in any case.

Before you attempt to import your whole library, try out the drag and drop with Ableton with just a few tracks... I'm curious, whether that works as it should.

    Thanks,

    -hendrik
