Why is not possible to choose which type of key notation gets written to the metadata in beaTunes? I recently used traktor to analyze some songs and it wrote open key notation to the key tag.

I was testing traktor but prefer Serato.

Because for interoperability beaTunes respects the ID3 specification (and unfortunately Traktor does not). Go to https://raw.github.com/id3/ID3v2.4/master/id3v2.4.0-frames.txt and search for "musical key" and you can see what entries are defined.

However, any software can take the ID3 TKEY information (e.g. "Dbm") and display that key in another manner, i.e. render is in a different way. For example Open Key Notation. That is exactly what beaTunes does.
