Time Machine Backups and BeaTunes

I noticed that Time Machine is completing fairly large backups as BeaTunes is analyzing the BPM, Color, etc. Are there any changes possible so that Time Machine does not make a full new backup of each song instead of a more ideal, space-saving incremental backup of just the tags?

    Hi Bobby,

I assume that Time Machine backs up all files that have been changed. Since data is embedded into the music files, they are changed...

This seems to be a Time Machine problem that I don't have an answer to right away - I'd suggest to ask Apple, since it's their product.

Sorry for not being of much help,

In working with high-end enterprise backup systems I'll hazard a guess:
Time machine looks at date/time stamps of files and compares to it's catalog file...if it's changed (ie. a file has been modified) it get's backed-up. Since a tag is merely a file attribute - the entire file will be backed-up when Time machine notices it's changed.
