to obtain metadata for a WAV file without artist/title etc., beaTunes must compute an acoustic fingerprint and then query a database that contains a mapping from acoustic fingerprint to metadata. The latter does not exist, as we don't have access to the Beatport catalog (i.e. the audio files). However, many Beatport tracks may nevertheless be in our own database. Using beaTunes, your best bet is to:
Select the tracks for which you want to import metadata
Right-click -> Analyze
In the analysis options dialog, select only Import Metadata From Online Resources and then check Force Lookup via Fingerprint. What to import or replace is up to you, but please be very careful with replacing. You cannot undo this!!
Run the analysis
Depending on whether the tracks can be found in the database, you may or may not get decent results. Perhaps you want to try this with a backup of your audio files first (or single files, not a whole bunch).
Please note that my suggestion has nothing to do with the Beatport integration that you have read about. If you had any decent tags, beaTunes could use the integration. You can also check Beatport charts etc. But looking up metadata based on fingerprints is unfortunately not supported.
