Is the database/app unstable?

This has happened to me several times now: when I launch the app, the database recovery process starts up even though I closed the app normally beforehand. What’s causing this? With my large library, it’s no fun having to wait nearly 30 minutes every time, and I don’t even see any progress.
I’ve also noticed that the database keeps getting bigger—it’s gone from 4GB to suddenly 6GB or more; it was even 7.5GB at one point. I added about 300–400 tracks today.

You can use Command ⌘ instead of Control ^ on Mac

The database has been a constant source of pain and will be replaced.
Would you be interested in a an Early Access build for beaTunes 6? Optics would be similar, but a lot has changed under the hood, including the database. Catch: One can easily go back to version 5, but one cannot migrate the v6 database back to v5. So all new info would be lost, if one wanted to do that.

Sure, I’d be happy to. I was also an alpha tester for the Mac version of MP3tag. So I’ll just use both versions in parallel. V6 doesn’t always have to be up to date.
Then maybe, just like back then, we can stay in touch directly instead of through the forum.
