Beatunes 2.1.5 Not Synchronizing properly
I've had frequent (but intermittent - not always) issues wiht 2.1.5 not synchronizing properly with Itunes. Even after the "synchronizing with Itunes Library" message appears, it will still not show newly added tracks, and playlists will still show tracks deleted from Itunes playlists. I like to have Beatunes analyze new tracks as soon as I get em, but if Beatunes can't see them it's no help. If I say file-sychronize - it says Beatunes and Itunes are already synchronized.
I run XP-SP3. Java 6, update 18.

Hi,
what beaTunes can see, highly depends on what iTunes exports to its
iTunes Music Library.xml
file. iTunes typically does this fairly quickly, but not instantaneously. As a result there may be a lag. Please also note, that synchronization is interrupted and perhaps never quite finished, if you switch back and forth between iTunes and beaTunes quickly. This problem gets worse the more songs you have in your library. How many do you have?

Wow, that's fast service! My library's huge. 5600 songs. Itunes 9.0.3.15.
Do you have recommendations for my own behavior that can mitigate this
problem? I'm updating my Ipod now. I'm guessing that an Ipod
synchronization will force an XML file update that might help Beatunes if I
open it after the Ipod sync.

beaTunes does not sync right after you start it - to allow for a faster startup.
But once it started, do a manual sync through the file menu and let it finish that sync. After the sync your data should be current.

PS: 5600 songs should be very manageable.

It's just not syncing. It won't take the file -sync command - says it's
already synchronized. I left it up all night - still out of sync with
Itunes. I believe this is a bug - never had this issue with earlier versions
of Beatunes.

Well, this was my problem. I had reconsolidated my library to another
drive, and the Beatunes preferences were pointing to the wrong .xml file.
Apologies for wasting your time...

Well, that would explain it.
No problem.
