Recently Apple Music has replaced iTunes on Windows. When installing Music, all playlists etc. moved to Music. beaTunes still tries to launch iTunes and then fails to load my library.

    Hey Alan,

unfortunately, Apple hasn't documented any API for Music for Windows yet (see also here). I'll have to do some more research, but it does not look like beaTunes will be able to interact with Music.app for Windows.

I'll let you know, if I am able to find out anything about it. But so far, searching the usual forums, I haven't been able to find anything.

    Hi Alan,

could you please upload your logs from within beaTunes (Help -> Upload Logs)? I'd like to see how beaTunes fails.

    Thanks!

    Hey Alan,

I have heard back from Apple and in a very convoluted way they said: There is no public API for Apple Music on Windows. 😢

    Here's what they wrote:

We have reviewed your request and have concluded that there is no supported way to achieve the desired functionality given the currently shipping system configurations.

    The question was:

Is there some API for Apple Music for Windows? Will there be some API?
And if so, where can I find the documentation?

So sadly, beaTunes is not able to interact with Apple Music for Windows. What's left is the old iTunes configuration and folder-based libraries. Both of those still work as expected.

    Sorry,

    -hendrik
