How to export tags?
Hi I just started using beaTunes & happy with it so far. I spent a long time creating tags for my tracks,
but now need to switch to another Mac for further audio work.
I am able to synch with iTunes for all the standard stuff: BPM, mood, etc., but can't find a way to synch my custom tags?
Is there a backup/export process or a plugin that would solve this?
I scoured the forums and FAQs but no luck there. Any help appreciated - thanks!

I don't know how it works on Mac, but on PC, I would backup the database folder and copy it over to the same file folder location on the new system.
It would be nice if we could import our Beatunes tags into the Comment field as I also work with other audio software where I look in the Comment field for custom tags.

You might want to check the box ("Embed non-Music.app fields into audio files". Then beaTunes also writes all custom/beaTunes-specific fields to your files and other apps should be able to read them. Note that only changes that occur after you checked the box will be written. Also, beaTunes has some custom fields that no other app supports, so you won't find them anywhere else.
To really back up some value, you might just want to export a playlist in CSV format.

Thanks - I tried using a backup DB from the computer with the tags but the
new mac still has empty tags

Hey Hendrik,
I have that option checked & tested by adding tags to a single track to see
if it would synchronize between 2 macs. No changes that I could see...
I will try with playlist export
