Stuck on "sending data to server..."
Repaired database, did lots of Console and Activity Monitor, but I cannot analyze any songs.
Is there a known server outage? Thanks.

Hey guys,
there's an issue with the central database server. I'm working on it.
See https://twitter.com/beaTunesApp/ for updates.
Thanks,

Can beaTunes be made to automatically go ahead and Analyze, Inspect, etc, without using online resources in these scenarios?
I usually Analyze with all the the "Online Resources" options unchecked and just submit the fingerprint. Analysis stalls even if that option is unchecked.
Seems strange that the app would just stay "in limbo" indefinitely.

Inspection does not depend on the central server at all. So you can just run it with no problem.
Analysis is a different beast. You can run it without the server, if all tasks that use "online resources" turn off the switch "use online resources". Also, all tasks that always use online resources must be turned off. E.g. the mood task always uses online resources. Anything to do with Last.FM always uses online resources. And of course "import metadata" always uses online resources.

So if I change a few of my normal settings, Analysis should continue normally right now?
However, my question is can/will beaTunes be made to automatically "move on" with analysis if it's unable to utilize the server in a timely manner? e.g. Throw an error line in the Messages and continue on. "Central Server timeout: Unable to define Mood for track X"
Just think! You'll get a whole new type of support request during times like these!
Thanks for your time.

The server should be working again now.
Note that the issue is not fully solved. There might be a maintenance outage in the next couple of weeks.
Trust me, I do think! ;-)
But seriously, I am as surprised as you are that beaTunes does not fail faster, that there wasn't an instantaneous error message and local processing as fallback. Definitely something to look into.

It works!
Early adopter here, wanting to express gratitude.
Long time software engineer, I retired when Covid came, I believe beaTunes has probably drained an immense amount of energy from your body, soul and spirit. Thank you for everything. I love the tool, I hope it goes on as long as possible, I appreciate how difficult it is when you try to maintain software for 10 or 15 or even 20 years, as I did some of mine. You must be exhausted.

Always welcome! :-)
Yep. Not trivial, I admit. beaTunes turned 17 this year. It's been a long, but also gratifying journey.
