Running Mac OS 10.14.6 with latest iTunes 12.9.5.5, 2017 iMac with 32 GB memory. Updated from 5.2.18 to 5.2.19 - beaTunes started up with a dialog box asking 'where is music?' Pointed to usual iTunes library on USB 3 attached 4 GB media drive (95k tracks) - Failed to find library, 2nd restart found library, then crashed. By third restart beaTunes showed no tracks in library. Downgraded to 5.2.18, attempted first a repair. DB failed to repair with SQL exception, Table 'PLAYLIST_SONGS' not found. I have a screenshot attached. Rebuild then failed to recover DB, beaTunes shows no tracks in library, but does show correct location in preferences.
Any idea on how to recover this?

    Hey there,

the update from 5.2.18 to 5.2.19 should not have caused this and is surprising to me.

dialog box asking 'where is music?'

Frankly, I am not sure which dialog this is.

Could you please send your logs? This article explains where they can be found and how to send them. There are multiple ways to find and send the logs. I find these steps the simplest to follow (but this is coming from a programmer's perspective):

    1. Start the application Terminal (it's in /Applications/Utilities)
    2. Type in
      zip -rj Desktop/beaTunesLogs.zip Library/Logs/beaTunes/
    3. Hit the Enter key
    4. The complete logs are now in the file beaTunesLogs.zip on your desktop.

Rebuild then failed to recover DB, beaTunes shows no tracks in library, but does show correct location in preferences. Any idea on how to recover this?

Rebuild is usually a certain way to get a fresh library. So that's pretty odd. I assume the Filter field (upper right corner) is empty, right? What about synchronizing after the rebuild via File -> Synchronize? Does that work?

BTW: While an upgrade should always work flawlessly, a downgrade, i.e. to some previous version, is by no means guaranteed to succeed.

    Hi,

I am experiencing the same problem. In opening Beatunes 5.2.22 under Mac OS 10.14.6 I get a pop up window asking "Where is music". Strange! Why is this?

I'll include the logs and a screenshot in a zip-file.

    Best wishes, --Chris

    Hey Chris,

I believe the issue is fixed in v5.2.23 (just released).
Thanks for reporting this again with screenshot and logs.

    Cheers,

    -hendrik
