Album Artwork not showing

Hi,

I'm transitioning from using iTunes to using beaTunes as my primary music library management system. I currently have a column heading showing for Album Artwork, however, none of my songs are showing the album cover (the whole column is empty). Does anyone have any thoughts as to why it's not showing the album covers? I've attached an image of my library.

Thanks,
Kevin

Somehow the image is not attached.

    • Is this an iTunes-based or a folder-based library?
    • Is your cover art embedded in your audio files?

    Hi Hendrik,

This is a folder-based library. When I go to a music file and click “Get Info” the album cover shows. For whatever reason, it’s not showing in beaTunes. FYI, I use MetaBliss to manage my music files data.

    Does that answer your question?

    Hey Kevin,

    Does that answer your question?

Not really. Get Info may get the cover from elsewhere, not necessarily from the file. For beaTunes to show the cover art in folder-mode it has to reside in the file itself.

How do I ensure the cover art is saved in the file? I have a MacBook Pro, FYI. It shows when I open the file, I’m not sure how I can see if it’s saved in the file. Please advise.

Either send me one of those files and I'll check, use a third party player like VLC or use a hex editor like https://www.suavetech.com/0xed/ and check out the actual info in the file.

I’m trying to send a file below, not sure why it’s attaching strangely.

The artwork is definitely in there.

Can you please try again to send a beaTunes screenshot?

    Thanks!

Weird it should show it. Does sorting by Artwork (ie clicking on the table header) help?

Also, can you please upload your logs (via the Help menu).

    Thanks!

Got the logs. Unfortunately, they don't contain any interesting info.

This is a long shot, but does turning "Show artwork after inactivity" off in the general preferences perhaps help?

That did not work. However, I just unchecked the “Show only full artwork” box and then all the artwork appeared. I greatly appreciate your help and responsiveness! Problem solved!

Ahh!! Yes. That makes sense! Because you haven't sorted by album (or artwork), none of the covers fit within one line and therefore aren't shown when "show only full artwork" is on.

    Problem solved!

    Awesome!

    Hi Hendrik,

Can I use beaTunes on a second computer without having to buy it again? If so, how do I set that up?

    Thanks,
    Kevin

    Hey Kevin,

The license states that you can install the software on multiple computers, but you may not run multiple instances at the same time.

If so, how do I set that up?

I'm not sure I understand the question. What do you want to achieve by running beaTunes on multiple computers?

    Cheers,

Thanks for getting back to me, Hendrik. I don’t necessarily need to run multiple instances of beaTunes at the same time. I’m a part-time mobile DJ and I have two MacBook Pro laptops (one for back-up). I’m starting to ween off of iTunes and would like to use beaTunes as my primary music management system. I’m not sure how I can install the full version without having to buy it again. I’d appreciate any direction you can provide. Thanks!- Kevin

Easy: Simply download it from the website and use your license key to register it.
