And as always, there is some more info in the NOTES.txt file.

On OS X, beaTunes 2.0 will not be able to use the database anymore, after you ran beaTunes 2.1. If you intend to try 2.1 and then go back to 2.0, make sure you back up the database before you try 2.1 (it's in ~/Library/Application Support/beaTunes/Database)! Hi,
are you on Mac or Windows? What's in your Database folder - I mean - what are the file names?
Thanks,
-hendrik

MAC

Hey Paul,
you can safely delete all those
[...]index.db.2009[...]
files. They are backups of index files created whenever you 'unlock' the database. Usually, unlocking is not necessary and should be avoided.Hope this helps!

PS: Please make sure to backup your database before trying out any EA releases!

Hey Paul,

no problem, check my reply
about keeping the most up to date db or not?
7 Posted by cheakypawl on 09 Dec, 2009 03:22 PM
it should have these things in there only.
Support Staff 8 Posted by hendrik on 09 Dec, 2009 03:22 PM
Correct - you want to keep the one without the appended timestamp.

Well, now
lock.db
andtrace.db
are missing! You don't want to delete those!-hendrik

you mean LOG and trace? they are there... aren't they?
Support Staff 11 Posted by hendrik on 09 Dec, 2009 04:24 PM
No, LOCK and trace.
If lock isn't there and beaTunes is not running, it does not matter.

correct, there is no LOCK file.
is that bad?
beatunes was not running when i copied the DATABASE or when i deleted the db files i didn't need.
did i accidentally delete lock?
Support Staff 13 Posted by hendrik on 09 Dec, 2009 06:27 PM
It probably does not matter. No worries.
