And as always, there is some more info in the NOTES.txt file.

On OS X, beaTunes 2.0 will not be able to use the database anymore, after you ran beaTunes 2.1. If you intend to try 2.1 and then go back to 2.0, make sure you back up the database before you try 2.1 (it's in ~/Library/Application Support/beaTunes/Database)! You also might want to check out this article about exporting beaTunes data.

    Hi,

are you on Mac or Windows? What's in your Database folder - I mean - what are the file names?

    Thanks,

    Hey Paul,

you can safely delete all those [...]index.db.2009[...] files. They are backups of index files created whenever you 'unlock' the database. Usually, unlocking is not necessary and should be avoided.

    Hope this helps!

    -hendrik

PS: Please make sure to backup your database before trying out any EA releases!

    Hey Paul,

would you mind, if made this exchange public? There may be other users with the same question.

    Thanks,

it should have these things in there only.

Correct - you want to keep the one without the appended timestamp.

Well, now lock.db and trace.db are missing! You don't want to delete those!

you mean LOG and trace? they are there... aren't they?

    No, LOCK and trace.
If lock isn't there and beaTunes is not running, it does not matter.

correct, there is no LOCK file.
    is that bad?
beatunes was not running when i copied the DATABASE or when i deleted the db files i didn't need.
    did i accidentally delete lock?

It probably does not matter. No worries.
