Mislabeled columns?
Hi,
I have a weird situation where it appears the labels for the "timbre" and "color" columns are switched. I am running 5.1.9 using the filesystem, no iTunes.
When I hover over a color associated with a file in the "color" column, I get an rgb value. I can get the rbg value for timbre in the same way using the timbre column. But these values are switched in the id3 tags for the same file (using mutagen to read the tags and convertinig the hex to decimal rgb). Moreover, ordering a playlist by "similar color only" appears to operate on the color values in the timbre column. This is especially apparent when using the matching songs feature. That is, setting matching songs to "similar color only" matches the color listed in the "timbre" column not the "color" column.

Hey Bill,
first off, just to clarify:
In beaTunes 4 there was a column/property named "Color".
In beaTunes 5 that same column was renamed to "Timbre".
Also, in beaTunes 5 a new property was introduced and it took the place of the old color property, thus is was also named "Color".
Why this change? The new color combines timbral and temporal properties of a song in a single color. The old color really just described timbral properties.
Regarding tooltip you see when you hover over a color, be it "Timbre" or "Color": That always matches the actual color you see. Confusion between different columns is not possible.
In ID3, "Timbre" is embedded as "beaTunes_COLOR" and v5 "Color" is embedded as "beaTunes_tempo_timbre_COLOR". For compatibility reasons, the ID3 TXT names follow v4 conventions.
Does that explain the issue?
Thanks,
