Why is this the slowest program I've ever seen?

Even scrolling the list of problems it found takes way more than acceptable...
Computer configuration is enough to run all OS X apps without choking...
The library is in an external disc. But iTunes doesn't have any problem with that.

How many songs are in the library and how much RAM does your system have?

    Hi Hendrik,

There are 6619 songs and 32GB of RAM

The start up process takes about 8 seconds and navigation in the program is
ok in the beginning but degrades after open for a few hours.

The time it became not normal I had let it on overnight. Not analyzing

    Thank you,

with that much RAM you might want to increase the amount of memory beaTunes is permitted to use to something a little higher than the default (512MB).
http://help.beatunes.com/kb/troubleshooting/manually-changing-the-b... describes how to do this.

I'm a little surprised though, that it becomes sluggish after inactivity. That's odd.
You might also want to run Tools->Repair Database, just to be sure that the database is in good shape.

    Alright, thanks for the tips.

Memory is up to 2GB and repaired the database.

I think I figured it out... It runs smoothly on a small window and it
degrades as the window gets larger. The full screen mode is where is
Even changing a column width brings the spinner up for about 3 seconds and
after a few tries you can't even do that anymore.
The two-sided arrow does not appear anymore and all you can do is move or
    sort the column.

Anyway, I'll keep the window small for now... Hope you guys figure this one

    Thank you,

I decided to give it another go and was wondering if version 5 has improved regarding performance.
The version 4 I installed still performs poorly, even simply scrolling the songs list is jumpy.

    Thank you,

    Hey Ricardo,

v5 contains performance improvements, but whether they will satisfy you I cannot say. You can give it a try, but be advised that downgrading back to v4 is not just stop running v5 and going back to v4, but a manual process.

If, after testing, you are happy with v5, you can purchase a discounted v5 license at https://www.beatunes.com/en/beatunes-buy.html

    Hope this helps,
