Analyze Songs
I was trying to "analyze songs" on with the EA version on simple with 70-140 as the setting and it gave me an error.

Hi,
thanks for the logs - looks like you got an
OnlineDBException
. As described in the release post on http://www.beatunes.com/news/2009/11/ea4-for-beatunes-21.html that is to be expected at the moment. You should be able to simply click
OK
and go on.Thanks,

Hendrik,
There's 5 in my family including 2 college girls and we constantly sync our libraries using the new iTunes Home Sharing feature. The problem is, I get a lot of 1 hit wonder, rap stuff from them that I don't want in my library. Stuff they trade with their roommates or download 1 hit at a time from various mystery web sites. It's garbage that I don't want, and has very bad or no iTunes attributes associated with the files.
To deal with this, I find myself wanting a tool that will identify songs that are alone, not part of an album. Just random songs, hanging out in the library. The reason is, even if I don't like it, but it's at least a complete album and has decent attributes, I'll go ahead and keep it, who knows who might like it. But if it's just garbage called "Was up w/ Lil Tim ft. Ludacrissss" or "Track 9", not part of an album, with little or no attributes and slim chance of reproducing them. Then I want identify it and delete it.
Is there any way this type of "I'm not part of an proper album in your library" based tool could brought into your suite of tools?
BTW, thanks for bringing the "Play/Skip Ratio" feature into the suite! It's been working great.
Thanks in advance,
Jim Forrester

Hi Jim,
currently beaTunes has nothing to offer that solves this issue right away.
If I was you, I'd probably sort by album, manually select tracks with bogus titles and have them analyzed with the MusicIP task to import the missing fields (if they can be found at all). But unfortunately that's all I have to offer right now.

Hedrik,
Thanks for the fast reply. I managed a work around using Album Rating.
Another enhancement request. In your "different song rating" tool, if 2 (or more) songs are the same title..., but rated differently, you only give the option of one of the existing ratings (higher or lower). Could you give a 3rd option of changing the rating of the selected song(s) to another rating?
For example if 1 song of the duplicates is rated 5 star and 1 (or more) song is rated 1 star, can you give the option to rate the 1 star song as 2 or 3 stars (for example)?
Thanks in adanve,
Jim Forrester
