Switching back to beaTunes from another app and the attached (as png) message popped up...
I just upgraded from ver. 2 to ver. 3 today....

    beaTunes3 3.0.2
    2006 iMac 1.87 GHz Intel Core Duo, 2GB, running OS X 10.6.8 .

    I've gotten the same error message twice now. beaTunes seems to be functioning OK. I can open it with iTunes running, have it inspect my library, and make some corrections. I checked both FAQ articles, but neither seems to apply to this case....

    Hi,

    an assertion error in itself is not a problem, but I would really like to see what's causing it. Could you please send me your logs? http://help.beatunes.com/kb/troubleshooting/where-are-the-beatunes-... tells you where to find them and how to send them.

    The attached beaTunes.zip contains the logs from [home]/Library/Logs/beaTunes.

    Happy hunting! If it's of any help, I'm running OS X's Spaces utility. The first instance of the AssertionError message appeared when I switched from another space to the space where beaTunes was running.

    Hi Thomas,

    it looks like you have two different iTunes Music Library.xml files on your system.

    • /Users/thark/Music/iTunes/Master Library.itmf/iTunes Library.xml
    • /Users/thark/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music Library.xml

    Which one do you think is the correct one? Currently, you seem to be using the first one.

    The first one is the active one, Hendrick. Judging by the file dates, I made a backup copy of the library to the disk about two years ago. I was probably tweaking something, and forgot to trash it.

    Hm... the issue has something to do with syncing not working the way it should. Can you show me what's in the directory /Users/thark/Music/iTunes/Master Library.itmf/? I mean, which files?

    Using the snapshot, do you still see the issue?
    If you do, do you notice any problems at all (other than the error message)?
