Song analysis doesn't get album or artist information

I've been trying to get this to work for a while now. I've taken 30 mainstream songs and have taken the album and artist information out. I tell beaTunes to analyze them having it import and overwrite any and all pieces of info it has. It's not gotten the album or artist, but has told me that all the 30 English language songs are in fact German. So far this is useless.

I should have probably mentioned I'm running it on a Mac with OS X 10.6.6 iTunes 10.1.2 and beaTunes 2.1.18

    Hi,

The music id infos are supplied by Amplifind (formerly MusicIP, http://www.amplifindmusicservices.com/). Either their database simply didn't know your songs or there was a communication problem. Did you see any error messages in the task queue window?

I'd be curious to see which songs it didn't find or whether there was some other kind of problem. It would be easiest, if you repeated the analysis, shut down beaTunes and sent me your logs (http://help.beatunes.com/kb/troubleshooting/where-are-the-beatunes-... tells you where to find the logs and how to send them).

Regarding the language - beaTunes looks at the lyrics. If they aren't available it checks out the titles by album. If there aren't any albums there is precious little info to work with and the language guess can very well be wrong.

Hi, thanks for getting back. So I tried another group of songs and it did reasonably well, but the group of 30+ songs that are fairly new it didn't get anything. Here's my log, thanks.

    Thank you for the logs.

I checked a couple of the songs that weren't found and indeed AmpliFind didn't return any useful meta data. But it should, which is why I requested an investigation from AmpliFind. Unfortunately, this is all I can do at this point, since I have no control over what they deliver.

    Sorry,

Thanks for looking into it. Glad to know it's not a beaTunes or user error.
