I think I accidentally clicked a button saying I am done with the duplicate music feature but there are still plenty of duplicate songs in my library and can't figure out how to turn the feature back on.. Help :)...

    Just hit the Inspection button.
If that does not do it, go to the preferences and make sure that the duplicates inspection is turned on.

I had already tried both of these solutions but to no avail. I also just tried clicking "clear ignored issues" which did succeed in restoring the option to use issues I had chosen to ignore except Duplicate feature which is no longer under "General Issues"

Do I need to deleate my copy of beatunes and reinstall? Would that fix it?

No, re-installation would not fix it.

But I still don't understand where it is not showing up.
Are you sure you have "Duplicates" enabled in the preference pane?
If you are, please send me your logs.

    Hi David,

looked at your logs and it seems that you had problems actually deleting duplicates, because the files didn't exist anymore.

How do you know you still have many duplicates in your library? Just because beaTunes showed them at some point?

I had seen 2 duplicates when I first opened I tunes but as I scrolled through the music I realized that there were only 2 or 3 duplicates still there but that they were mostly gone.. The other one or two I can can manually so it is no big deal.

I have a bunch of music that just say "track 1" etc. with no details.. I am sure some of these are duplicates as well. 1) How do I go about using beatunes to find album/track info?
    2) Once I do will the "eliminate duplicate music option reappear to deal with these newly titled songs?

Thanks! So far I love beatunes! It has saved me so much time getting rid of duplicates.

    Hi David,

    Sorry for the late answer.

    1. To find names etc. select all the songs you want to have updated, then click on Analyze and select the MusicIP task. Make sure you carefully review what it does and click the appropriate options. Note that this is only good for songs that really lack useful information!
    2. Yes, it will as long as it is enabled in the preferences.

    Hope this helps!
