wrong iTunes library at beaTunes start
Hi,
I just bought beaTunes 2.0.16 and installed it on my computer. Every time i start beaTunes, it tells me that the library that it uses is different from the one that iTunes uses. When i set the path to the library in the preferences of beaTunes it synchronizes with iTunes. When i close beaTunes and start it again, the same error happens again. I also can not solve the problems beaTunes finds after inspection. The number of objects play time and size in iTunes and beaTunes are idebtically.
Amy suggestions?
Thank you!
-Gernold

Hi Gernold,
Thanks for your email.
Can you please send me your logs? They are in C:\Documents and Settings
\(username)\.beaTunes\logs or C:\Users\(username)\.beaTunes\logs
Please zip the whole folder before you send the files.
Thanks,
-hendrik

Hi,
the issue with the beaTunes saying you've got the wrong library seems to be a bug in beaTunes. It'll get fixed in an update soon.
Just for my information: is this
C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\GSC\Eigene Dateien\Eigene Musik\iTunes\iTunes Music Library.xml
the library you are trying to load? I mean, is this the correct one?You write "I also can not solve the problems beaTunes finds after inspection. The number of objects play time and size in iTunes and beaTunes are idebtically."
Does that mean you tried to delete orphans or duplicates? What exactly did you try to do? DId you commit your inspection changes?
Thanks,
-hendrik

Hi Hendrik,
yes, that´s the correct path and library file i'm using. If i change the path in the preferences of beaTunes again, the program begins to synchronize with iTunes. After synchronization i tried to delete dead links or changing wrong genres and so on. Yes, i also commited the changes. After that beaTunes begins to work and shows a progress indicator, that tells me the changes, that beaTunes does. After the indicator is gone i switch to iTunes and nothing changed.
Thanks

Hi,
Can you please try to inspect your library and only correct a couple
of genres, but not try to delete missing files?
Does that work?
Can you please send me a fresh set of logs, right after you tried that?
Thanks,
-hendrik

I changed a lot of genres and it seems to me, that it worked.
Thanks

Hi,
any chance some of your songs are read-only?
E.g. "Tage wie dieser", album "Die gute Seite", artist "Sportfreunde Stiller" - is this file writable at all?
