Rather than Get Info 'panel?' being split between an Artwork layer/frame and an Info layer/frame, I'd like to see Artwork move to top right and always be the first thing to set smaller and be hidden when the beaTunes window is made smaller.

The rest of Get Info screen can be filled with common fields that would be edited.

If user selects more than one file, only common and consistent fields can be edited without first prompting (on first instance with option to not see this message again).

I'd also want to access the different Info tabs through keyboard shortcuts and... now I'm getting to another FR :)

RobGtag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/489849662021-01-21T14:28:06Z2021-01-21T14:28:06ZFR: Get Info - Easier access to and editing of metadata

Another picture to compare to one about (not the new FR).

Making beaTunes window smaller, buttons are lost, but Artwork is taking a priority. Get Info should really be for exactly that. Getting it and correcting it quickly.

RobGtag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/489849662021-01-25T17:28:14Z2021-01-25T17:28:14ZFR: Get Info - Easier access to and editing of metadata

Hey Rob,

thanks for your input, also in the other FRs. Sorry for not replying earlier, but these kind of things usually require a little bit more thought than bug fixes.

Artwork is actually not taking priority, I believe it's the Where field. Artwork only uses whatever space is left.

But I get your point.

The question is, do you use beaTunes mostly for editing tags or for some other purpose, like building playlists. If it's editing tags, you can probably do without the Summary tab altogether and showing the Info tab as the first one makes a lot more sense.

Cheers,

I was trying to use it for auditioning and rating tracks, but iTunes wasn't picking up the scores I'd assigned. So now I'm back to using iTunes as my main library manager.

Always good to be able to edit metadata as quickly as possible when errors are spotted. If I were able to hide/remove the summary tab, I would.

Thanks!

RobG
