I see this most times near the top or bottom BPM limits of my library. It could also have something to do with changing tempos within the song. Can't you just tap it out yourself? beaTunes has a really good way to do that manually.

Jacktag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/480099902020-01-16T05:19:59Z2020-01-16T05:20:00ZIt would be really nice if you could create a bpm estimator function specifically for "Waltz" music

Yes, I could tap it out but I have over 200 waltzes in my library it’s a
little tedious

Rainer Buehlmaiertag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/480099902020-01-16T05:24:11Z2020-01-16T08:06:12ZIt would be really nice if you could create a bpm estimator function specifically for "Waltz" music

Also I’m sure you know this but just to make sure in case you don’t pay
waltz is a style of dancing like tango, cha-cha, foxtrot, rumba, salsa,
two-step, night club two step, hustle etc. each dance has a different
rhythm if you guys can create software that Can understand these different
rhythms you guys could be onto something huge financially there’s thousands
of studios across the country and DJs that play ball room and country music
it be nice if the software could recognize the different rhythms.

Rainer Buehlmaiertag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/480099902020-01-16T08:17:41Z2020-01-16T08:17:41ZIt would be really nice if you could create a bpm estimator function specifically for "Waltz" music

regardless of what software I use, the bpm is usually wrong. Any hope of a waltz specific estimator??

Waltz is a little difficult, because frankly most popular music is in 4/4 and Waltz per definition in 3/4. That's why oftentimes algorithms get this wrong.

However, recently I fixed a bug in beaTunes that should have improved this kind of situation. When you analyze BPM with the current beaTunes version (>=5.2.3), making sure that in the BPM analysis options "Use online resources" is off and "Replace existing value" is on, you should get the best results beaTunes can currently deliver (with "Use online resources" set to on, you will most likely get wrong results, because they are based on older beaTunes versions).

Hopefully, I will eventually have time to create beaTunes 6. It will for sure contain a new BPM estimator that will be better than the current one, regardless of genre.

hendriktag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/480099902020-01-16T11:02:03Z2020-01-16T11:02:03ZIt would be really nice if you could create a bpm estimator function specifically for "Waltz" music

Yes, that’s the setting I now use and it is much better and quite
accurate. Here’s what I might challenge your team to consider Developing,
just as the software now recognizes many different variables such as the
key, color, mood, Danceability, language, instrumentation, etc., if you can
get the software to distinguish the difference between a tango, waltz,
foxtrot, cha-cha, two step, East Coast swing, night club two step, Mambo,
meringue gay, poker, quickstep, salsa, rumba, samba etc. etc. you guys
would be on to making a lot of money. There are thousands of DJs across
the country and the world that would pay a considerable amount of money to
have a software that hears the differences and offer suggestions as to what
dance style that song is.

Rainer Buehlmaiertag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/480099902020-01-16T15:46:16Z2020-01-16T15:46:16ZIt would be really nice if you could create a bpm estimator function specifically for "Waltz" music

Aren't most audio files genre tagged already?

hendriktag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/480099902020-01-16T17:27:44Z2020-01-16T17:27:45ZIt would be really nice if you could create a bpm estimator function specifically for "Waltz" music

No sir, they are not. Which provides your company which I think is by far
the best job doing what you guys too but to add the additional dance style
references and suggestions to the songs would be a huge huge advantage and
couldn’t result in a massive amount of sales

Rainer Buehlmaiertag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/480099902020-01-16T18:39:07Z2020-01-16T18:39:07ZIt would be really nice if you could create a bpm estimator function specifically for "Waltz" music

Ha! I assume "couldn't" is a typo or the result of autocorrection. :-)

I'm in this business long enough to know that no single such feature will result in a massive amount of sales. But nevertheless I'm always interested in finding out what's needed by people like you. So please don't take this as a rejection.

hendriktag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/480099902020-01-16T19:50:56Z2020-01-16T19:50:56ZIt would be really nice if you could create a bpm estimator function specifically for "Waltz" music

Not at all, so for the typo, “could” is the correct word. The first
company to crack the code on deciphering the correct dance style associated
with the beat and rhythm of the music is on it’s way to massive sales and
revenue.

Rainer Buehlmaiertag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/480099902020-01-16T19:53:27Z2020-01-16T19:53:28ZIt would be really nice if you could create a bpm estimator function specifically for "Waltz" music

If you consider combining the technology with Phone apps such as Shazam the
