Subject says lots.

song a- colour ->255:15:0
song b-colour->93:7:0
song c-colour->255:24:0

this happens all over the place.

    Hi,

    It is very difficult to find a decent projection from a 3d space to a 1d space (i.e. a list) and there multiple possible solutions.
    In beaTunes I decided to sort based on hue/saturation/brightness (in that order), not on red/green/blue. Trust me - rgb would look odd in other ways.

    Instead of sorting on one column then would be to allow the user to sort on 6 columns and in the order the user wants?
    Red
    Green
    Blue
    Hue
    Saturation
    Brightness

    I'm sometimes scrolling down the list of blue songs for example and get black songs thrown into the middle of the list.

    Hi,

    sorting by RGB would leave nothing left to sort for HSB, as a total order has already been reached. So it's either RGB, HSB or some other scheme.

    beaTunes 3 will let you switch between HSB and RGB by clicking on the table header, but really neither is perfect.
