Since there are numeric values for red, green, blue can there be a tool that selects songs with certain values and creates a playlist based on those values instead of doing it manually?

You could simply create a matchlist with a ruleset that only contains the color rule.

Can further changes be made to that matchlist within itunes? Like not play songs that had already been played that week?

Matchlists look like regular user generated playlists in iTunes - you can do with them whatever you want.

Is there something else to be set? I tried creating a matchlist based on blue and it gave me 50 songs. These values ranged from (8,0,255) to (0,10,255) yet when I created a playlist and dragged out the blue songs to I find 708 songs ranging from (126,0,255) to (0,138,215)

Are the matchlists automatic? As I as new songs to iTunes will the appear in the matchlist automatically?

You probably asked beaTunes to limit the matchlist to 50 songs..

No, matchlists aren't automatic, but you can refresh them manually, by right clicking on them in the beaTunes playlist tree (update).

I have match quality set to 50% but no numbered limits.

I also tried creating a matchlist based just on BPM. I had 21 songs with a 220 bpm. I set the match quality to 39% and it couldn't find the other songs.

Well, you can always lower the match quality, but at some point, beaTunes will not regard any more candidates to be matches, i.e. the BPM or the color is too different.

That makes sense for colors. Blue\Green is not Blue. Blueish Purple is not Blue. I can just add those as seeds and get more matches that way. However, a BPM of 220 being different than a BPM of 220 I don't get.

220 different to 220 really shouldn't be the case... Did you use really just one rule with no restriction and Library as a source?

That aside, if you really just want songs from 219 to 221, you should probably not use a matchlist, but a smart playlist in iTunes. It does a better job for such a task.

I was using Music instead of Library.

Library is typically faster, but it really shouldn't make a diff in
    this case.

After playing a little more with matchlists I still would like
    A feature though like
    R:0-60
    G:60-120
    B:0-60

Where the user can specify the red, green, blue values that a song should fall in. Sometimes multiple songs have to be added to the seed list which produces large lists sometimes with duplicates and takes a while to process.

The songs might not "match" within the criteria of Beatunes but it could lead to better experimentation by the user to find those matches.

That's an interesting idea. I might be able to put something like it into beaTunes 3.
