Restrict to BPM range

Thanks! Keep up the good work!

(I guess new topic under “suggestions”)

I would just like to add to my 'smart playlist' workflow / suggestion: in my 'smart playlists' in iTunes, I also use a BPM range of + / - 2 or 3 from the selected track I’m using to make my playlist in beaTunes. This range is pretty safe while using sync in Traktor.
I’m sure this could be implemented into beaTunes somehow so that those who despise iTunes for some reason won’t have to use this sort of ‘hack.'

In this screen capture the song I was using was 'Tech House' at 124 bpm, but some of the songs in my library have more than one genre assigned, like “Tech House, Deep House, House.” So sometimes I use this smart playlist and switch off BPM and Genre in beaTunes:

Cheers!
John

Why don't you simply use Match Lists in beaTunes?

What is that and how does it relate to what I described?

That's the beaTunes Matchlist dialog with filters like you suggested. It lets you create playlists that are similar to iTunes smart playlists, with the difference that a match rule is applied as well (something iTunes cannot do).

I was thinking it's somewhat similar to what you did with iTunes.

Under File -> New Matchlist. A seed song needs to be selected.

Ah, that’s an old feature that never gives good results and it is nothing like I described.
Again, I want to “Restrict to a BPM range.” That’s not part of the Matchlist feature.

It’s no big deal to me. I will just continue to use iTune’s smart playlists as a source. I just think you totally misunderstood me.

I took another look at the Matchlist just now. There’s a whole load of features I didn’t know existed! My result is still not perfect but much better!!!
There should be a 200 page manual on this app! :D

    I guess I misunderstood you!

Glad we got it sorted out.

It would be nice to see a similar functionality incorporated into this dialog as the Matchlist:

Same file. Happened again, a duplicate showed up in the match list.
(Never mind the bad music) :))

For others who might follow this discussion: The last post probably should have been posted to http://help.beatunes.com/discussions/problems/46378-duplicates I will answer there.
