Hi, I thought it would be a given to make several libraries in beatunes? For instance, one library for songs from 2014 only. Turns out this was not possible. Hope you fix that soon! Thanks

You can easily create multiple libraries—but only selected by base folder, not by some property.
But you could sort by release year, select all songs from 2014 and then create a new playlist from the selection.

Hi,
Could you please explain to me like I’m 5, or link me up to some guide on how to use “base folders” for different libraries.
Otherwise, thanks for an excellent product, I use Beatunes for absolutely everything and my djing would be gravely hampered without it. It really would. Beauties makes my music visual.

Hey Pontus,
beaTunes knows two kinds of libraries:
You seem to be running a folder-based one. This means that all audio files in a folder and its subfolders are imported and shown in the library.
The folder you originally chose to build the library is the "base-folder".
To create a new library with a different base-folder, open the
File
menu and chooseNew Library...
->Directory based
. Then simply choose a different folder than the one you already used and beaTunes will create a new library with its content. You can switch back and forth between different libraries in the beaTunes general preferences.
More information about this topic can be found in http://blog.beatunes.com/2015/01/different-libraries-for-different-...
I hope this explains things.
Cheers,
-hendrik

Ahh ok I missed the fact that you switch libraries in the general preferences.
I thought Beatunes always created only one new library everytime you tried, as you can’t switch libraries on the left hand side of the screen, as I for some reason am used to and thought it would be.
Thanks,

Perhaps it's not coded in the most intuitive way ever...
But the issue is resolved now?

Yes tyvm.
A suggestion tho to put the libraries available under "library" on the left side of the main screen;)
