I know I'll receive one. :)

Is it "better" (i.e., "more accurate") to let beaTunes "estimate" the BPM, or is it better to "use online resources"? I'm not too concerned with how long the process will take.

I did a test on a few files. I noticed that the files show a new "created on" date and a new "modified on" date. I expected the latter but not the former. Is that how it has to work? I'm not too keen on having all my files get a new "created" date. (I also queued some other analyses on the same files: key, mood, color, danceability. So that could have been a factor.)

A different unrelated question: Is it still a requirement of beaTunes that all music files be stored within a single folder tree? My music tracks are stored in two separate trees on the same hard drive (for now anyway). So I'd have to specify the root (D:) in beaTunes for it to pick up everything, but that will also would bring in a lot of folders that store other types of files. This is a directory-based library. (I bought a bT license awhile ago. Haven't used it much yet, although I continue to be impressed with its capabilities.)

Thanks!

Richardtag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/452748422018-05-14T04:18:09Z2018-05-14T04:18:09Zcalculating BPM vs. using online value

Hey Richard,

not using online resources may be the better choice, but there's no guarantee.

Regarding your second question, please see https://blog.beatunes.com/2016/04/how-to-use-multiple-folders-in-si...

Cheers,
