Deactivate selected duplicates?

I am new to beatunes but I really like it a lot.
Cleaned up my library very good so far.

Now I am left with duplicate files and I don't know which option would be best for me.

One option that sounds very interesting is to "deactivate selected files" ("deactivate" is the translation from German, maybe the original command is named different).

What dos "deactivate" do?
How should it be used?

Searched the help file and forums but found nothing.

Best regards,
-Adrian

    Hi Adrian,

in iTunes there is a little checkbox in front of every title. De-selecting this is equivalent to "deactivating/disabling/unchecking".

The check can be used for various things:

    1. When playing in random mode, unchecked songs do not play
    2. For the ipod, you have an option "sync only checked songs"
    3. Can be used in smart folders in the "Match only checked songs" option
    4. If you don't want to import tracks on a CD you can uncheck them and click import

    Hope this helps,
