Key information from BeaTunes in itunes fields - possible to customize?

Hope this question makes sense! Basically I am running the program to integrate with itunes via the library option (versus folder). At the moment the key info defaults to populate the comments box in the itunes file field options. However - is there a way I can change this so the key info populates another itunes file box - e.g. 'grouping' I never use - can I ask BeaTunes to put the key info in there and use the comments box for something else? I would like to be able to do that! Hope this question makes sense and thanks!

    Hey James,

you could turn copying the key to the comment off, install the Copy Key To Grouping plugin via the plugin preferences, restart and voila! you have a new analysis task (in the analysis options dialog, shown after you ask beaTunes to analyze), which does nothing but writing key info to your grouping field.

    Hope this helps,

Brilliant, thanks Hendrik. I installed that plug-in but can't see in preferences where to turn off copying key to comment, and in the plug-ins, it mentions key is copied to comment by default, and that plugin is for illustrative purposes only, are you able to advise? I honestly can't see this in preferences. Thanks!

you have a new analysis task (in the analysis options dialog

It's not in the preferences. The analysis options appear as dialog as soon as you select a song and click on Analyze (context or file menu). The new task should be listed at the bottom.

Thanks Hendrik! Would I then need to re-analyse the library in order to shift this info over to the groupings area, or would it happen automatically? (fingers crossed!)

The task would not shift anything from your comment field to your grouping field. It just copied the key information from your key field to your grouping field.

So, yes, you would need to re-analyze your songs, but with only the new task enabled. That means there files aren't really analyzed and this should very quick.
