Exporting Musical Key and BPM from beaTunes to iTunes
I am running iTunes 12.5.5.5 and beaTunes 4.6.11 and am not able to export the Key and BPM to my songs in iTunes when I analyze the songs in beaTunes. I have been able to do this in the past and the Add Ins are properly installed in beaTunes. Can you please help me trouble shoot what I should do to resolve this issue. Thanks in advance

Hey Cliff,
first of all, please send your logs.
Then, please clarify how you want to export keys to iTunes, i.e. whether you simply have them written to the comment field or whether you use some plugin (which?).
Thanks,
-hendrik

Hey Hendrick
Thanks for the prompt response. I will forward the log(s). Below is a screen shot of my plugins. I and running on a MAC and have been able to write the Key to the Comments field and the BPM to the BPM field in iTunes. I do have a brand new Mac Book Pro Touch which is running on Sierra 10.12.3. Not sure if that really matters or not
Logs to follow

Hey,
got the logs. On first glance there does not seem to be anything wrong. Is this failing for all songs all the time?
It looks like you are running many analysis tasks at the same time.
Can you reproduce the issue, when running just the key and bpm tasks?
Cheers,
-hendrik

Hey
I had 3,900 songs I ran analysis on but since then I ran the analysis on just one of the songs with the same result of not exporting Key and BPM. Until yesterday I have been exporting this information flawlessly. Can you tell me how to run just the key and bam task?
I have run synchronize and it runs without any issues. I don’t get any comments after synch hs run. Not sure if this matters
Thanks
Cliff

Hey Hendrik
Below is a screen shot of where my iTunes Library is. I am not sure if beatUnes is finding it.

Whenever you start an analysis, beaTunes displays an analysis options dialog. There you can turn tasks on and off. Simply turn everything but the BPM and key task off.

The last songs that was analyzed according to the logs is:
The BPM was determined to be 105 and according to the log this was set via AppleScript (was it really?—the log does not show me results from iTunes). The key was set to A flat major (9d).
I think beaTunes is doing its job.
However, digging a little deeper, I'm under the impression that some of the songs are shared tracks. Meaning they are not locally stored, but only available in iCloud/iTunes Match or something similar. In these cases it becomes a little unpredictable what iTunes does when told to store metadata.

Thanks Hendrik
I think they may be stored in iTunes Match and this probably explains why they are not being populated with the BPM and Key. Yjanks for your help
Mystery solved
