If you don't want to go through the songs individually,

Select the songs in question

Remove the Album Artist from all songs (may be
easier/more efficient via iTunes—if you use iTunes, don't
forget to synchronize before doing anything else with
beaTunes). This step may help to make sure that album stay
together.

Click on
Analyze
.

Select the
Import Metadata
task, deselect the
others.

Choose the
Import Metadata
options
carefully:

Check the box
Force lookup via fingerprint
,
because your existing metadata is worthless and would only lead to
confusion.

Check
Replace existing song properties
.

Only check the boxes
Album
,
Artist
,

Track
,
Disc
,
Genre
,

Year
.

Do not check
Album Artist
.

Check
Ignore compilations
.

Check
Choose earliest release
.

Run the analysis.

With little useful data to start from, your mileage with this
approach will vary.
After this initial step, you probably need to review results to see
what still needs to be fixed. Creating a backup beforehand may not
be a bad idea (since it is a bulk operation that cannot be
undone).

Alternatively, compute fingerprints via the
Take
fingerprint
task. After that's done, open each song
individually with the
Get Info
dialog, wait for
beaTunes to look up reference songs, and then right-click into the

Artist
field of the
Info
tab. You will be
given one or multiple options. You can do the same with

Album
etc. Obviously, this approach is a lot more
laborious, but you have fine-grained control over what you are
doing.

Hope this helps,
