Measures per minute.
For example music in 4/4 at 120 BPM would be 30 MPM, and music in
3/4 at 120 BPM would be 40 MPM. It would be a tremendous help if
you had an option in your analysis screen to record
measures-per-minute in the BPM field. You would need to add an
option such that the user could select the count of the music (2/2
for the rare paso doble, 3/4 for waltz, or 4/4 for most everything
else) and then you would just divide the BPM by 2, 3, or 4
depending on the count selected. Currently I'm doing this with a
calculator manually and it is very tedious.
Thanks

Marc Lacroixtag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/386692662015-12-11T08:06:40Z2015-12-11T08:06:40Zmeasures per minute

Hey Marc,

I guess it's one of those little known features, but in its main
table, beaTunes can display the columns
BPM
,

MPM
and
Time Signature
. You can
enable/disable each column by right-clicking on the table header
and selecting the fields you want displayed (alternatively, select
a song and then open the
View
menu and select

View Options
).

BPM is the column that can be computed by beaTunes.

Time Signature is also computed, if you use the
OnsetPeak algorithm. However, the used algorithm is mediocre. You
might want to edit/correct the values manually in the
Get
Info
dialog.

MPM is computed automatically, whenever Time Signature and BPM
are set.

Hope this helps,
