<p>sorry, but there is mo such guide. The idea is to give the user
a lit of freedom to create match settings for a particular purpose.
I.e. you might not care at all about the release year and the key
is irrelevant for you, too.</p>
<p>Hope this helps a little. If not, can you please describe in
more detail what kind of playlist you'd like to build? I.e. what's
important for your particular list?</p>
<p>Thanks,</p>
<p>-hendrik</p>
<p>To tweak a little you might want to use the matchtable view. It
react immediately to changes the match sliders in the prefs, so you
get an impression of what kind of matched you would get in a
matchlist.</p>
<p>In fact (if the main panel shows a user created playlist) you
can drag matches from the matchtable into the current playlist and
build a new playlist incrementally, using matchlist songs as
suggestions.</p></div>hendriktag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/13852172010-04-06T16:26:07Z2010-04-06T16:26:07ZMatch List Settings<div><p>Please excuse the typos in my reply - iPhone tragedy ;-)</p></div>hendriktag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/13852172010-04-06T17:59:12Z2010-04-06T17:59:14ZMatch List Settings<div><p>Well I was loking for songs to match with neo soul mostly. It
generally works, but for whatever reason, sometimes I get some hip
hop tracks thrown in there. I'm unsure if I should try to organize
my albums by genre, or each individual song by genre. I'm unsure if
my music is perhaps too exotic for MusicIP's PUIDs to offer
assistance, but more often than not, it doesn't help out in that
regard (saying either no information was found or a network error
occured or something or another). I'll try what you were suggesting
once I finish importing last.fm tags (which I'm hoping will also
improve the results).</p></div>C.V. Bernardtag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/13852172010-04-07T07:35:05Z2010-04-07T07:35:05ZMatch List Settings<div><p>If you are using last.fm tags you will also have to enable the
corresponding rule in the matching preferences...</p></div>hendriktag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/13852172010-04-07T18:06:41Z2010-04-07T18:09:18ZMatch List Settings<div><p>Well I guess I'll just have to tinker with the weight of each
slide bar for the time being. Thank you for the assistance.</p>
<p>I would like to suggest that in the Inspection module of the
program, it would be very helpful if beaTunes could delete
extranneous information from the Track Name that shows up in other
fields. For example, I have some mixtapes that list the DJ and
Album name and Track name all in a single field (probably because
they are too lazy to enter each field properly). It is easy enough
to include the DJ in the Album Artist or Artist field and the Album
name in it's respective field, but it is annoying to go through and
manually delete the erroneous information from the mixtape's
individual track listings. I'm not sure if this would be possible
to include in the next revision of beaTunes.</p></div>C.V. Bernardtag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/13852172010-04-08T17:13:51Z2010-04-08T17:13:51ZMatch List Settings<div><p>That is a good idea, which is half implemented in another piece
of software of mine. It might just make it into beaTunes 3 :-)</p>
<p>Thanks!</p></div>hendrik
