I managed to update the location in iTunes by exporting the XML
of the entire library and opened that in a text editor, searched
and replaced allthe paths .. I then deleted my iTunes .itl file and
reimported the new XML .. All seems to be working fine on the
iTunes side but beaTunes still has the old paths.

Can beaTunes bulk relocate file paths?

ryantag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/374590372015-07-24T11:43:45Z2015-07-24T11:43:45ZRelocate music library

Hm. If you are using an iTunes-based library, beaTunes should be
able to handle the relocation fairly automatically. In
theory, beaTunes realizes that the file is gone and as response
asks iTunes where it is now.

What happens when you try playing a file in beaTunes now, that
you have relocated the files?

hendriktag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/374590372015-07-27T05:27:04Z2015-07-27T05:27:04ZRelocate music library

Thanks for getting back to me Hendrik.

I ended up creating a symbolic link to the new location of my
music from User/me/Music

I don't think it's a problem with beaTunes .. more likely with
iTunes. It's not that easy to relocate your music in iTunes
unfortunately

ryantag:help.beatunes.com,2009-07-24:Comment/374590372015-07-28T07:30:31Z2015-07-28T07:30:31ZRelocate music library

Sounds like a good idea—no matter which path is used, your
files will be found, I guess.

hendrik
