Large Library Synchronizing

howdy.

i have a rather large library and each time i launch beauties, it takes almost 30m for it to synch and find newly added tracks. is there a way to expedite this process and not have it scan the ENTIRE library each time?

   Can you please tell me a little more about your setup?

   • Which exact version of beaTunes are you using?
   • On OS X?
   • How many songs?
   • Internal or external drive?
   • Folder-based or iTunes-based library (see http://help.beatunes.com/kb/troubleshooting/how-to-tell-an-itunes-b...)?
   • Is "Sync on Window activation" in the general preferences on or off?

   sure thing.

   - i am running 4.0.12
   - OS X Yosemite
   - 80,000+ songs in library
   - external drive
   - iTunes based
   - synch on window activation is selected

   Hey,

   I'd recommend to turn "sync on window activation off". You can still sync via the File menu whenever you change something in iTunes that you want to also see in beaTunes. The other way around (beaTunes -> iTunes) is always on.

   Perhaps you also benefit from increasing memory a little (more about that here).

   But that said, super long sync can also be a sign of a slow external drive or a broken database. If you send me your logs, I can check whether there is anything suspicious in there (see http://help.beatunes.com/kb/troubleshooting/where-are-the-beatunes-...).
