Hi Heinrich.

I am trying to embed the Key developed for each tune by Beatunes into my iTunes music library in the comment field. I am running iTunes 10.6.3 on my MAC which is running the new Mountain Lion. I added the Copy Key to Comment 2.0.0 add in and restarted Beatunes. I then analyzed my total music library. Once finished I selected the Embed non-itunes fields from the tools menu pull down. It executed. I have now checked iTunes and do not find the Key in the comment field. I must be doing something wrong. Can you please help me with next steps.

if you experienced a crash or other abnormal behavior, you might want to attach log files from /Users/cpwicks10934/Library/Logs/beaTunes

  • beaTunes: 3.5.5
  • JVM: Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM
  • Version: 20.8-b03-424
  • Vendor: Apple Inc.
  • OS: Mac OS X 10.8, x86_64

    Hi,

the "Copy key to comment" plugin is an analysis plugin. Did you make sure to enable it when you ran the analysis? You can easily check by selecting a single song, clicking on analyze and then pay close attention to the "Analysis Options" dialog. In there you must enable that plugin - probably somewhere near the bottom of that dialog.

I wonder if there is a way to embed the non itunes fields into the tag without analyzing the files again. I have a library of over 10.000 files and it took forever to complete. Once it finished, I realized I hadn't turned on the option to embed the information...

There is an option in the Tools menu.
