1. If you experienced a crash or other abnormal behavior, please attach the log file 'beaTunes-logs-2014-10-03-132614.zip' by dragging it from your desktop onto the 'Attach File' button below.

I'm running a folder library. Some meta data such as BPM are being synced back to the files themselves, but the option to select under edit>preferences isn't there on my version compared to the screen shots I've seen on your website for MAC. I want to buy the software, but only if I can sync the metadata back to the files themselves. Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you.

    Hey Tom,

a FileSystem/Folder-based library has nothing to do with iTunes fields, therefore all values are always embedded. That's why the option isn't even given.
BTW: The values are not written during "sync", but when they are computed. "sync" only reads, never writes.

    Hi,
Thanks for the swift reply. The mood isn't adding into the file properties on this same library. I've got the paid version now, will it only add in the BPM, artist name, album name, rating, song name, year and genre for a folder library, leaving the mood and color un-synced? If so is there an easy way I can get this into the folder properties?

    Thanks

    Tom

    Hey Tom,

No - in principle the data should be written. How can you tell that it's not?

    Hi,
Going into the file properties in windows folder explorer, the mood field
is still blank and I can't find the color under any misc properties? Also
when added into other music players BPM shows up but not the color or mood
which would be very useful. Should I be using some other application to
view the meta-data? Also I'd like to add that I am very impressed with your
    customer service!

    Thanks

    Tom

    Hey Tom,

mood as well as color are beaTunes proprietary fields and will not be displayed by any third party apps. Both are stored in special text fields - which means that a comprehensive tag reader will be able to see them, but does not know how to make sense of the values.

    Cheers,
