Sometimes, the click to a playlist in beaTunes opens iTunes, but I don't use neither the iTunes based library nor iTunes is set to the default audio player. How can I prevent this?

    Hi Roland,

thanks for your message - is this on Windows or on OS X?

    Roland:

Is there a specific action that reliably reproduces this bug (as it is a bug and should not happen)?

    Thanks,

Unfortunately not: I can click playlists a lot with left and right mouse
button, delete and rename them - and all works right, but sometimes if I
click on a playlist iTunes will start :-(

Hm.. Is this possibly connected to "Play in QuickTime" from the song context menu?

    I'm afraid I don't understand this question, because I can't see a
relation between clicking to playlists an the "Play in Quicktime" option
    in the song context menu...

    Hi Roland,

my questions was based on something I found in the code.

Could you please install http://www.beatunes.com/download/beaTunes-3-5-5-SNAPSHOT-jre-win.exe and, should the problem occur again, shut down beaTunes and send me a fresh set of logs (http://help.beatunes.com/kb/troubleshooting/where-are-the-beatunes-...)? The snapshot contains some code that should help me to figure out exactly what piece of code triggers the iTunes start.

    Thank you!

    Voilà!

After selecting a playlist I clicked the minus sign under it to delete this playlist - and just in this moment iTunes start.

Attached you will find the log file as you want.

    Hi,

thanks for the log. I think I removed the offending piece of code. A new snapshot is at http://www.beatunes.com/download/beaTunes-3-5-5-SNAPSHOT-jre-win.exe

With that version - can you still reproduce the problem?

    Thanks,

    -hendrik

Bingo! It seems as if the problem is solved :-) Deleting playlists and many other operations works right - and never iTunes was startet.

    Thanks for testing this, Roland!

The fix will be part of the next minor update (to 3.5.5).
