Failed to read Itunes Music Library file. It either does not exist or cannot be read. Will use /User/BOOTLEG/Music/itunes/itunes Music .xml
SO THIS IS THE FIRST MESSAGE THAT CAME UP (1ST ATTACHMENT) . I
WAS USEING 2.1.0 AT THE TIME. I HAD NOT BEEN USEING BEATUNES IN
QUITE A LONG TIME WHEN I CAME ACROSS THIS ERROR. I JUST STOPED
RUNNING THE PROGRAM AND DECIDED TO WAIT UNTILL THE NEW UPDATE CAME
OUT. I READ SOMEWHERE ON THIS FORUM THERE WAS SOME ISSUES WITH JAVA
SO I WAS IN NO RUSH SO I DECIDED TO WAIT. AFTER WAITING A COUPLE
MONTHS I TRYED AGAIN. I DOWNLOADED THE NEW UPDATE 2.1.4, OPENED IT
AND THIS ERROR CAME UP (THE 2ND ATTACHMENT). I DONT KNOW IF THESE
ARE RELATED AT ALL, BUT JUST TRYING TO BE PRECISE.
AS FOR THE 2ND ERROR, IT HAS BEEN SOMETIME SINCE I RAN BEATUNES -
AS I SAID. IN BETWEEN THIS TIME, I HAVE SINCE MOVED MY LOCATION OF
WHERE MY .xml FILE WAS STORED (DUE TO AN APPLE PROBLEM-IN THERE
PROGRAM). SOOOO MY QUESTION IS, WHAT SHOULD I DO TO LET BEATUNES
SEE THE NEW LOCATION OF MY .xml FILE?
THANKS BOOTLEG

Hi,
could you please send your attachements again - somehow they didn't seem to have made it.
Generally, you can set the library xml to use in the General Prefs.

WELL I THINK THAT WORKED!!
I HAVE ONLY RUN IT BEATUNES ONECE SINCE DELATING IT. THERE WAS ALSO TWO preferences2.xml FILES. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE WAS preferences2.xml~. THE "~" AT THE END OF THE FILE AND ONE WITHOUT THE "~".
THANKS

CONCERNING THIS SAME ISSUE. I BEGAN BMPing SONGS. ON ACCIDENT SOME "SONGS" WHERE JUST TALKING, AAC AUDIO FILES AND MP3 (MANY DIFFERENT BIT RATES). SINCE I DIDNT WANT BPM'S ON TALKING FILES I CLOSED BEATUNES. I THEN OPENED ITUNES AND SELECTED ALL THE TALKING FILES AND ERASED THE BPMS. THEN REOPENED BEATUNES AND NOTHING WAS CHANGED IN THE BEATUNES. ALL THE BPM'S WHERE STILL THERE? WHAT IS GOING ON? THE XML. HAS BEEN REDIRECTED BECAUSE I TRYED DOWNLOADING A NEW CD AND ALL THOSE TRACKS WHERE SEEN WHEN REOPENED IN BEATUNES.
THANKS!

Did beaTunes actually sync after you erased all the BPMs?
(note that beaTunes does not sync on startup, but only after the first
window change)

NO. IT DID NOT. NOR DOSE IT ANY TIME I OPEN THE APPLICATION NOW. IT NEVER SYNCS UPON START UP NOW. I ONLY GET A BLUE SPINNING WHEEL FOR A MIN OR TWO, THEN THE PROGRAM WORKS LIKE NORMAL. EXCEPT SOME CHANGES DONT STICK?
Support Staff 11 Posted by hendrik on 04 Mar, 2010 10:31 PM
beaTunes is not supposed to sync right on startup - so that behavior is correct.
However, whenever you switch to another application and back to beaTunes it attempts to sync. That's probably when you see the blue ball, as it is syncing in the background.

OK THAT MAKES SENCE. I GUESS I WAS JUST REMEMBERING WHAT IT DID ON THE FIRST OPENING OF BEATUNES. IM JUST TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHY ITS NOT REALLY SYNCING. UHH SO WHAT DO I DO ABOUT THIS BPM ISSUE? I JUST TRYED A RANDOM SONG - DELETED THE BPM ON ITUNES. THEN CHECKED ON BEATUNES AND THE BPM WAS STILL THERE?
THANKS

Hi,
I checked this out and it seems like in 2.1.4 you cannot delete the BPM entry in beaTunes from iTunes (but the other way around).
I think I have a fix for this in 2.1.5.
