Just general questions
When you buy a license, is it a one time purchase unless an upgrade is needed somewhere down the line? Also, is there a way to get the "colors" to transfer into iTunes or is that a BeaTunes only feature? (I really like that feature)

sorry for the very late reply. I just "discovered" your message.
Our license policy is pretty mich explained here and here.
Long story short:
Your beaTunes 4 key will work for all beaTunes 4.x versions.
It will not work for beaTunes 5 or later.
But there is usually a discounted upgrade price.
"Color" is a beaTunes-only feature and there is currently no way to transfer it to iTunes.
