Duplicates: Multiple Tracks with the ID 'xxxxxx'
Following inspection, beaTunes identified many tracks in my iTunes library as Duplicates, with the same Track ID. Upon review, they are actually not duplicates, can you please advise how I can view / modify the Tag associated with the track ID.
Thanks You.

Hey Brian,
unfortunately, there is currently no way to see ID in the UI.
But perhaps there are some listed in the logs and we can figure out a way how to fix this. Can you please run just the duplicates inspection again, shut down beaTunes and send me your logs? http://help.beatunes.com/kb/troubleshooting/where-are-the-beatunes-... tells you where to find them and how to send them (whole folder, zipped).
Thanks,
-hendrik

Oh wait - did you mean the id is literally "xxxxxx"?
You didn't mean "xxxxxx" just as a placeholder?
Which version of beaTunes are you using?
Thanks,
-hendrik

Hi Hendrik,
Thank you for your prompt reply. By separate cover I'll send the logs, the xxxxs were simply a placeholder. This seems to be a common occurrence when I search on some of the IDs which your program identified. It appears to correlate to a copyright or trademark of sorts. All of the tag editors which I looked at, seem to omit this field as one which can be edited.
I'll back at home tomorrow, so hopefully you'll have the logs Wednesday morning.
Regards,
Brian

Hi Hendrik
Attached is a print screen of the duplicates to which I'm referring, the
log files are nearly empty. I thought this would be more valuable. All
were downloaded from iTunes at various times, its also not isolated to
just one artist or album.

Hey Brian,
this looks like bad ISRC codes.
Have you ever imported meta data using beaTunes 3 or earlier?

I am seeing this problem too (songs with the same id that are not duplicates) - can I find and overwrite the bad data somehow?

Same question to you:
I think you have, right Mark?

Brian - yes, your first use of beaTunes4 - but you have used beaTunes 3 before, right?
The reason I'm asking is that beaTunes 4 should not allow such ids, as the ones you can see in your screenshot. In beaTunes 3 on the other hand, that was possible. Just trying to narrow down the problem.

Hey Brian,
which operating system are you on? The initial support request came from Windows XP. Is that also the OS you are using for beaTunes?
For beaTunes 4, Windows 7 is the minimum. However, inspection will probably work just as well on XP or Vista.

Yes, I am still running XP. My apologies if that explains the confusion.

Hi Brian,
no XP or not does not make a difference for this kind of issue.
Can you please install the current dev snapshot from:
And then run the duplicates inspection and send me a set of logs? I added some extra logging specifically for this issue to figure out which ID these values are in. There's also some code in there that might partially solve the issue. Even if the issue seems to be solved, please send your logs. http://help.beatunes.com/kb/troubleshooting/where-are-the-beatunes-... tells you where to find them and how to send them (whole folder, zipped).
Thank you,

Hi Hendrik,
I've tried to install snapshot a few times, it appears to install successfully but never launches. I even attempted a full uninstall, didn't seem to make a difference.
I can see the process start to load in task manager, at random points it seems to abort.

Brian

Hey Brian,
to send the logs, you won't need to re-install...
