I use beaTunes on a pc with Windows 7 and like to change to a new pc with Windows 8. I use the file based library, and all songs are stored on an external harddisc.

How do I move beaTunes datas from the old to the new pc?

    Hi,

if all the paths stay the same (i.e. especially the path to your external hard drive ), I would recommend to simply copy the folder c:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\tagtraum industries to the equivalent location on your new computer. The folder contains both the database and also the name of your external hard drive music folder.

    Hope this helps,

Great, so it have to be!

Yes, all paths and such details are the same, but I fear problems because of this article: http://help.beatunes.com/kb/backup-and-migration/moving-to-a-new-co...

    Hi,

The article was written before folder-based libraries were available as a feature. It tries to solve a couple of problems that can occur with iTunes based libraries.

In any case: should you run into problems, let me know.
