Pre-purchase question – Automatic replacement of duplicate files with higher quality versions
Hi,
First of all, congratulations on the development of beaTunes. I've been testing the software for a few days and I find it a very powerful and promising tool for organizing my music library.
I'm seriously considering purchasing the full license, but I have one important question before doing so:
When I use the duplicate detection feature and choose to keep the version with the highest quality (higher bitrate), does beaTunes automatically replace the older file internally? In other words, does it preserve existing links to playlists, ratings, analysis, etc., or does it simply delete the file and those associations are lost?
My goal is to improve the quality of my audio files without losing metadata or existing connections within the library.
If this kind of smart replacement isn’t currently available, is there a manual way within beaTunes to achieve this?
Thank you very much for your time and support. If this functionality is possible or planned, I won’t hesitate to purchase the license.
Best regards,
Manel López

Hi,
It does not preserve links to playlist and the like. That's an open issue.
Not that I know of, I'm afraid.
