Bonjour,

I have a small question and I don’t fin the answer…

I'm looking for a piece of music database software (albums and/or singles) for Mac, which would enable me to catalog all my music purchased and stored on an external hard drive, without importing them onto the computer.

The idea is to be able to do a "multi-criteria" search of the whole database, and to be able to manually add criteria (personalized tags).

For example, I would like to search my library for all the songs that match these criteria:
Style: musette
BPM: between 120 and 140
Spirit: waltz
instrumentation: with guitar

Or again :
Style: undefined
Year: between 1960 and 1970
Instrumentation: with oboe

Or again:
Style: rock
Spirit: Shuffle feel
Vocals: female

Or again:
Pop style
Spirit: acoustic
Instrumentation: piano, percussion and vocals

Or again:
Style: Reggae
Instrumentation: with brass section
BPM: between 90 and 110

Or again:
Style: Hard rock
Spirit: Slow even straight feel
Key: D

Or again:
Style: country
Spirit : Western swing
Instrumentation: with banjo and fiddle

Or again:
Style: lounge
Spirit : instrumental
Instrumentation : with sax

That's about it, if I'm clear enough...

I'd like there to be criteria that are automatically defined when the albums are scanned (but that can be retouched if necessary), and others that could be added.
Ideally, I'd like the following criteria:

Artist
Album
Year
Style
BPM
Instrumentation
Key
Musical spirit
Voice type
...
And a miscellaneous section (or several) for personal comments.

I'm not interested in importing tracks or having them present on the computer (or even an extract), because you're quickly overwhelmed, but if the option exists, I'd like to be able to uncheck it.
I'm also not interested in the option to play, equalize, normalize, burn or convert audio formats, or even create DJ-style playlists.

I don’t know if your software can do that, and I’ve tested it without really success (English is not my mother language, and I found it a little bit complicated and slow)…
So I get one question now:
- Is it possible to do all that I want with it?

Thanks very much in advance for your answer!

Best regards from France,
Olivier
