Does Beatunes actually "normalize" the volume of files, or only compute the ReplayGain ?
Hi all,
So far I understood that Beatunes computes the replay-gain of each analysed file (according to given standard, e.g. -14 LUFS).
But does Beatunes actually also "normalize" the volume of the analysed file ? Or simply compute the ReplayGain.
Thanks for clearing the fog on this topic :-)

Hi Mikael,
I have tried to answer this here.
beaTunes does not touch the audio. It only computes the replay gain, stores it and honors it during playback, like most other serious music players.
Changing the actual volume in the audio would be destructive (often leads to quality loss) and is therefore usually avoided.
Hope this helps,
