Itunes script interface

Hi,
does itunes always have to be open when using beatunes?
Or is this only necessary if you have an iTunes shared library?

It would have to do with the iTunes script interface....?

    It has to be open, if you are using an iTunes- or Music.app-based library.

    beaTunes supports two kinds of libraries:

    • a folder-based one
    • an iTunes/Music.app-based one
