Silence Detection Analysis - More information requested
I understand that the slider for silence detection indicates the level of sensitivity, but I would like to know more about how this works? I am asking because I am experiencing some very sudden drop-offs and abrupt endings in many of my songs and I want to know which way to pull the slider.
The decibel slider has numbers which range from -100 to 0. But how does this factor into how the "cut" is made? From what I have seen on decibel rating charts, they are only positive values. So how can you be quieter than silence?

It is very common to use negative decibel values in digital music. The lower the value the quoted the cut off.
