Hi!
Only the new beaTunes 2.1 supports automatic lyrics retrieval via lyricsfly.com.
To be able to run beaTunes 2.1 on Leopard, you need at least a Core Duo 2 processor, i.e. it needs to be a 64 bit capable to run Java 6.
Note that on Snow Leopard, your processor does not need to be 64 bit capable to run Java 6.
Hope this clarifies things.

Hello,
Thanks for your prompt reply. My MacBook Pro has a Core Duo 2
processor. Please see the attached image:
Do I need to explicitly update my system to Java 6 and try the latest
version of beaTunes?
Please do let me know?
Thanks,
Deepak

Well, that should work then... Have you installed the latest Java Update for your Mac?
What does:
java -version
executed in the Terminal.app show?
It should be:
java version "1.6.0_17"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_17-b04-248-9M3125)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 14.3-b01-101, mixed mode)

Hello,
Thanks for your response. The problem was that in Java preferences,
Java 1.5 was marked to have priority over Java 1.6. It works now.
Thanks again and wish you a merry christmas and a happy new year.
Deepak
