Hi guys,
I am just curious how the Beatport integration works, I have a few wav files in my library and they look something like this:
10496931_Journey Inside Yourself_(Original Mix)
I was hoping beaTunes would be able to pull the full metadata from Beatport for me, but it doesn't seem to do that.
Am i missing something? or is Beatport not a song analyze source or something?

Hi Dwight,
to obtain metadata for a WAV file without artist/title etc., beaTunes must compute an acoustic fingerprint and then query a database that contains a mapping from acoustic fingerprint to metadata. The latter does not exist, as we don't have access to the Beatport catalog (i.e. the audio files). However, many Beatport tracks may nevertheless be in our own database. Using beaTunes, your best bet is to:
Depending on whether the tracks can be found in the database, you may or may not get decent results. Perhaps you want to try this with a backup of your audio files first (or single files, not a whole bunch).
Please note that my suggestion has nothing to do with the Beatport integration that you have read about. If you had any decent tags, beaTunes could use the integration. You can also check Beatport charts etc. But looking up metadata based on fingerprints is unfortunately not supported.
Hope this helps,
-hendrik

Hey Dwight,
just wanted to check. Did this answer your question? Can I close the issue?
Thanks,
