i was reading that you can embed the Key info into the ID3 tag of a song so that Traktor/Serato/Etc will be able to read. Is there a way to have the software write the Key info to another field that iTunes does support (Comments/Category/Etc)?

I make all my playlists in iTunes as previewing and moving songs is so much easier this way, but I can't figure out how to get the Key info to show up there. Is there a work around to this?

I have had some serious issues trying to get this to work. I put the 'keytocomment.jar' file where the instructions say to put it, it shows up as an option when I select 'analyze songs' and then I get a serious error (pic attached).

I restarted the machine, deleted all my beatunes files, including the ones in application support, reinstalled (which did fix the jammed queue). But the software will not do anything with either the 'keytocomment1.0.3.jar' or the 'keytogrouping1.0.4.jar' in the plugins folder (it did work before I put anything in the plugins folder). It simply locks up when I go to analyze a song.

    Hi,

that error probably stems from the 1.0.3 version - it's not compatible with the current beaTunes release. http://blog.beatunes.com/2010/02/beatunes-214-requires-update-for.html contains the most recent of these plugins.

Please delete the 1.0.3 version or replace it with the corresponding 1.0.4 version.

    Thanks,

can we edit the copy key to comments plugin to allow us to edit exactly how it displays that data in the comments. I'd prefer that it showed only the OK Notation and nothing else.

    Hi,

you can certainly change the plugin. The latest version (needed for beaTunes 3) can be found at http://www.beatunes.com/beatunes-plugin-getting-started.html
